Yes it's Christmas

Christmas time in Göteborg was very special. There is an overwhelming focus on fine cakes and warm wine.

The streets maybe ice cold but many still head for the 'Haga markets'.

The Christmas assortment:
From cheese to glögg...

...meat balls to Christmas beer...

Everything during Christmas ends up with the 'Jul' prefix to state that it is special Christmas food.

Walking on water

The winter freezes the fresh water thick. The photo above left is taken from the frozen lake looking into a boat shed. The water inside is unfrozen.

The lake becomes a desert of snow

At night, hallowing sounds can be heard from the ice as it shifts back and forth. It kind of like a low pitch whooping noise. You can often feel the ice tremble beneath you.

Göteborg Canals

The canals of Göteborg are filled with weird surprises; what the hell is that thing?

The bridges over the canals are so low that you have to duck whilst on the tour boat.

The 'Fish Church'. Get all your fishy needs (and more across the road apparently)

Good Godis

Godis = Candy/Lollies... There's one shop on every corner here.

During Winter you're either depressed or obese... Go figure

Ice Hockey

Was my first ice hockey match in Sweden with the home side, Frölunda Indians, up against Brynäs IF.

The game went to shoot-out after both teams were tied 3-3 after extra time.

Frölunda Indians unfortunately and unsurprisingly skated away with the loss...

Where's Wongy?

A suggestion came through to start a 'Where's Wongy?' puzzle similar to the 'Where's Wally?' books.

The aim is simply to find me! You can click on the picture to load the full picture.
This photo was taken at Sergels Torg (Sergel's Square), Stockholm above central station. Sergels Torg is often seen in many famous Swedish movies.

Feel free to comment if you find me and include where I am using the grid. The first to find me and comment will receive the self satisfaction of being awesome and having sic skills.

I have added some trivial music to help you with the puzzle.

Good luck/ Lycka till!
